RAFTING TRIPS
your adventure awaits...
THE UNFORGETTABLE WILDERNESS ADVENTURE
The adventure starts with a scenic flight aboard a Beaver airplane, which drops you off at the headwaters of various tributaries within the river system of units 17B and 17D. Whether you are on a guided trip with an experienced guide or embarking on a self-guided journey with a hunting partner, you and your companions will be equipped with a raft, supplies, and food to sustain you throughout the hunt.
Upon reaching the headwaters, you will commence your journey downstream, setting up camp three to four times during the trip. Each camping location offers the chance to hunt for two to four days out of a spike camp. Unlike the well-equipped camps used in jet boat hunts, these spike camps are minimalist, providing just a tent, a cook stove, and basic cookware. Despite their simplicity, they include all the essentials needed for a successful hunt.
Your culinary journey begins with fresh food at the start of the trip. As you progress, your meals will transition to mostly freeze-dried food, ensuring you have enough sustenance for the entirety of your adventure. This balance of fresh and preserved food maintains both convenience and nutrition during your expedition.
These rafting trips offer a wide range of activities beyond hunting. The river system is teeming with opportunities for fishing, allowing you to catch rainbow trout, silver salmon, Dolly Varden, and grayling. Additionally, the journey presents a unique chance to add bear hunting to your itinerary, leveraging fishing holes, berry fields, and moose carcasses as prime hunting spots.
While the hunts are demanding, they are equally rewarding. Alaska Elite Outfitters boasts an impressive near-100% success rate for big bull moose on these rafting trips. The combination of expert guidance, strategic hunting locations, and the natural abundance of wildlife in the region enhances the likelihood of a successful hunt.
Throughout the trip, you will stay in touch with the pilot via inReach devices and satellite phones. This constant communication allows for seamless coordination and a timely pickup at a designated point at the end of your adventure. The pilot will retrieve you and your gear, ensuring a safe and efficient conclusion to your journey.
The cost of this extraordinary 11-day, one-on-one hunt rafting trip is $36,500. This fee includes all the necessary equipment, guidance, and logistical support to ensure an exceptional and memorable experience in the Alaskan wilderness.
